Location: Driving east from Kingman, AZ on Interstate 40, get off at Blake Ranch Road. There are gas stations and restaurants here. Turn south and follow the Blake Ranch road approximately 11 miles. At this point you should come to Moss Wash road. Moss Wash road turns southeast. This road requires H.D. 4WD plus 4wd experience. The mansion is located 2 miles down this road. Walk if necessary, you are a long way from people.

History: The Gold King Mansion was built in the late 1920's as the residence for the foreman of the Gold King mine. The mine did not produce enough ore to sustain the operation and the 1929 stock market crash killed the operation.

The Gold King Mansion is a Historic Site. As such, you cannot dig up artifacts, use a metal detector, or vandalize the site. Many local hikers use the area and the BLM office at Kingman has it under its jurisdiction. The BLM office also has current information as to road conditions and site conditions.
