Here is where I get to ramble on about the things I see and the odds and ends that annoy me. So here goes.
Take a look at what I call the "Shoe Tree". This old cottonwood is located on Hwy. 50 about 1 or 2 miles east of Middlegate (or West gate)
east of Fallon, Nevada. How did this get started? The picture was taken in the fall of 2003. There were literally hundreds of pairs of old shoes

What is the giant "vent pipe" connected to that is located 6 or 7 miles east of the Sheephole Mountains
outside of Twenty Nine Palms, CA. This area was criss-crossed by General Patten during WWII...does it have
something to do with that? This thing stands about 10 feet high out in the middle of the sand. I stumbled on to it
by accident years ago. Being a bit curious, I threw a pebble into the opening. No one came running out to get me but...
